NAMM 2019 – Paul Gilbert 30th Anniversary Ibanez WiredGuitarist February 13, 2019 Articles, Ibanez Guitar Reviews, Uncategorized At this year’s winter NAMM, Ibanez has unveiled their 30th-anniversary signature model with shred legend Paul Gilbert (Paul Gilbert, Racer X, Mr. Big). Paul has been an Ibanez user for decades and the PGM333 is a tribute to that lasting relationship. The guitar features the same design as his previous models but by far their classiest finish yet, with subtle sparkle and gold hardware to boot – a perfect fit for the guitar royalty. The guitar comes with three DiMarzio PG-13 pickups designed for Gilbert himself. For those who aren’t fans of a three-humbucker setup, they have the nice benefit of being mini-humbuckers, leaving more room for you to pick if you need it. The guitar is made from African Mahogany and features a maple 5-piece neck with Macassar Ebony fretboard. The fretboard simply shines with the acrylic/abalone block inlays. With 24 medium Prestige-treated frets, a Gotoh hardtail bridge, and a TUSQ nut, this guitar features the highest quality of hardware money can buy. Everything about this instrument pays homage to not only Gilbert’s incredible music and talent but the long-standing relationship he and Ibanez have held for decades now. The new signature model is currently listed at $3466.65.
