Those familiar with PRS will recognize the S2 Vela as nothing new, but now we’re being offered more options than ever with a semi-hollow, vintage take on that design.

The Vela already oozes vintage vibes with its gorgeous throwback finishes and Telecaster-style bridge, but PRS made sure not to neglect modern features and innovation.

Th S2 Vela hollow-body guitar features:

– Semi-hollow body with top F-hole

– Offset body design

– Vintage dual-saddle bridge configuration

– Coil tapping

– PRS Starla and PRS-Designed Type-D Pickups

– 10’’ Fretboard Radius

– Mahogany Body

– Rosewood Fretboard

– 22 Frets

– 25’’ Scale Length

In true PRS fashion, the guitar will be available in a wide variety of finishes – 7 in total – from plain white to beautiful bursts and tons of vintage solid colors in between. No matter what your flavor, they’ve got you covered.

The design harkens back to some of Paul Reed Smith’s earlier work, Director of Sales Jim Cullen recaps the long journey leading up to this release:

“The Vela Semi-Hollow is a dream realized. It stemmed from the initial design concepts that Jon Wasserman and I drew up when developing the model years ago, was birthed within the Reclaimed Limited run in 2018, and has finally made its way to live in our product catalog. An epic journey finally brought to life for all to enjoy. But don’t take my word for it, please take the time to go try one for yourself.”
